Bible Buddies met for their April meeting a little earlier than normal this month. Bible Buddies was held on April 10th, a week before Easter.
The meeting began with the children’s prayer requests and Jeff leading the children in prayer. Once the prayer requests were prayed for, the children competed for the spirit stick by weighing which group, the boys or the girls, brought the most pennies for the playground. This month, the boys brought the most pennies! Continue reading “An “Egg”tra Special Easter”

The meeting started with Sandra asking the children if any of them had any prayer requests. The children give in various requests and then all gathered around the altar to bring those requests before the Lord.
Three new Bible Buddies were in attendance during the February meeting. Each of the three new members were called to the front and were given their very own Bible. Continue reading “Jesus Loves Me”
Buckeye Bible Buddies met for their January meeting on Thursday, January 19th. (Reminder: Bible Buddies will now be held on the third Thursday of the month)
When the children entered the church, they were greeted with a balloon arch and a cheering squad to get them excited about attending Children’s Church.
The meeting started off with the cheerleader’s getting the children involved in a few cheers about Jesus before prayer requests were given in. When all the prayer requests had been heard, the children, cheerleaders, Caleb, and Sandra all gathered around the alter to pray for those requests.
Caleb started off the lesson by asking the children how Christians cheer on Jesus. He told the kids there are a number of ways a Christian can cheer on Jesus– telling others what He has done for them or praising Him during a church service, just to name a few. Caleb then asked Jesus to come out and greet the kids. Jesus was able to “heal” Cayden’s leg, which he later thanked Jesus for. Continue reading “Cheering on Jesus”
Buckeye Bible Buddies held their November meeting on November 16, 2016.
The meeting started off with Sandra asking the kids if they had any prayer requests. After several kids voiced their requests, Keira and Kiana led the rest of the children in prayer.
After prayer, Sandra showed the kids a box she had sitting on the alter. She asked the children if they knew which holiday was quickly approaching and asked if they knew what the holiday meant.
“Thanksgiving!” Matt shouted. “It means I get five days off from school! I’m thankful I don’t have to go!” Continue reading “Are You Truly Thankful?”
On October 31st, 2016, Buckeye Bible Buddies set up at the Saltville Trunk or Treat. Local area churches and individuals who wanted to attended were invited to set up along Main Street and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.
Buckeye Bible Buddies decorated their vehicle to look like a lion’s den. Daniel, thrown in the den, sat in the car, while lions handed out candy and an invitation to Buckeye Bible Buddies Children’s Church to the trick or treaters as they passed by. The lions had 500 invitation cards to pass out to children and every card was passed out!
It is our sincere prayer to see Bible Buddies grow!
Buckeye Bible Buddies met on October 18th, 2016.
The meeting started off with Cayden and Gavin leading the children in prayer.
After prayer, Sandra began to teach the children about God’s promises and peer pressure. She explained to the children that we, as people, should not make a promise that we cannot keep. She used the example of “I’m going to give you a million dollars on Monday”. She told the kids that this was not a promise she could keep, as she did not have a million dollars to give them. Unlike people, she told the kids, when God makes a promise, he always keeps it. God’s promises cannot be taken away by anyone else and cannot be destroyed.
To prove how God can give a new, untouchable promise to his people, Sandra hid a surprise throughout the church. Continue reading “Peer Pressure and Promises”
Buckeye Bible Buddies met Tuesday, August 16th at Buckeye Hollow Church.
Caleb opened by asking the children if they had any prayer requests they would like to bring before God. Once all of the requests were made known, several of the children joined together at the front of the sanctuary to lead the other children in prayer.

On July 22nd, Buckeye Bible Buddies met at the Saltville Wellfields for a night of fishing and fun! Before the fishing began, Sandra opened the meeting with prayer. Labreeska then led the children in a round of songs. And after, Caleb taught the kids the story of Jesus calling His disciples to be fishers of men. Caleb and his helpers acted out the skit for the kids and explained to the kids that we, too, are called to be fishers of men by showing others the way to salvation whenever we get the chance to do so.
