Jesus is the Living Water

On April 9th, the Primary Class learned about the living water.

Sandra began telling the children about the woman Jesus met at the well, as described in John chapter 4.  The woman, a not-so-nice woman by most standards, was at the well drawing water at a time of day when most people would not be around.  Jesus, though, was around and asked the woman for a drink of water.  Shocked that someone had spoken to her, the woman told Jesus that she could not get him a drink because He did not have anything to put the water in.  Jesus began talking to the woman and told her of the Living Water.  He also told her of the wrongs she had done, such as living with a man that was not her own husband.  Sandra explained to the children that the Living Water Jesus was referring to was hope, love, and eternal salvation.

Sandra told the children that water is required for all living things to grow and without it, everything would be dead.  Just like natural water, the Living Water Jesus offers keeps us alive in Him and saves our soul from death.

At the end of the lesson, the children made paper well houses.  See the pictures below of their well constructions!

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.  John 4:14
