In the final installment of the Biblical Bad Guys series, the Primary Class learned about Goliath.
Sandra started off the lesson by telling the kids about how the Children of Israel were in a battle against the Philistines. The Philistines were a mighty army that the Children of Israel were having a rough time defeating. One reason the Israelites had a hard time was because the Philistine’s mighty warrior, Goliath, was the meanest, toughest, and tallest warrior of all. He was over nine feet tall!
To give the kids a visual of just how tall Goliath was, Sandra marked off nine feet of masking tape on the floor and labeled it Goliath. She had each kid lay in the floor next to Goliath’s measurements and Sandra measured how tall they were and marked it with more masking tape.

On October 31st, 2016, Buckeye Bible Buddies set up at the Saltville Trunk or Treat. Local area churches and individuals who wanted to attended were invited to set up along Main Street and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.
Buckeye Bible Buddies decorated their vehicle to look like a lion’s den. Daniel, thrown in the den, sat in the car, while lions handed out candy and an invitation to Buckeye Bible Buddies Children’s Church to the trick or treaters as they passed by. The lions had 500 invitation cards to pass out to children and every card was passed out!
It is our sincere prayer to see Bible Buddies grow!
This past Sunday in the Primary Class, the kids learned about the ultimate Biblical Bad Guy, Satan himself.
Sandra started the class off by asking the kids who they thought was the worst bad guy in the Bible. After a moment of thought, Owen declared the devil had to be the worst. Sandra explained to the kids that at one point, the devil wasn’t a bad guy. In the beginning, Satan, or Lucifer as he was called, sat with God in Heaven and was the most beautiful angel of all. Buckeye Bible Buddies met on October 18th, 2016.
The meeting started off with Cayden and Gavin leading the children in prayer.
After prayer, Sandra began to teach the children about God’s promises and peer pressure. She explained to the children that we, as people, should not make a promise that we cannot keep. She used the example of “I’m going to give you a million dollars on Monday”. She told the kids that this was not a promise she could keep, as she did not have a million dollars to give them. Unlike people, she told the kids, when God makes a promise, he always keeps it. God’s promises cannot be taken away by anyone else and cannot be destroyed.
To prove how God can give a new, untouchable promise to his people, Sandra hid a surprise throughout the church. Continue reading “Peer Pressure and Promises”
Biblical Bad Guys can be found all throughout the Bible, not just the Old Testament. Continuing on with the series, the Primary Class learned about a bad guy found in the New Testament: Judas Iscariot.
Judas was one of Jesus’s twelve disciples. When we first meet Judas in the Bible, he is not a bad guy. Jesus had picked him to be a disciple, a good guy. Because he was a disciple, that meant Judas traveled with Jesus to preach the Gospel, learned about Heaven and salvation directly from Him, was given power over unclean spirits, and saw many of the miracles that Jesus performed.
